Edible images are simple and great for adding a spectacular finishing touch to your cake. Learn a few tricks and techniques to mastering the perfect application.

Moderately thaw the cake and clean and dry your hands before applying the image. Moisture is necessary to successfully attach the edible image. If the product happens to be dry, apply moisture with a light spray of water or thin layer of icing. Too much moisture will cause colors to run.


Once applied, do not try to remove the image – it’s not designed for removal. With that in mind, be methodical as you place the image. Be sure to place the image in the exact position needed.

Smooth the placement of the image by tapping it in the center and moving to the outside. Don’t rub it to get rid of ridges or bumps. Gently tapping is the best option for evening out images.
