Following an appearance (and win) on the Cooking Channel’s Sugar Showdown just a few years ago, Scott and Meredith Layton launched a brand known as Buttermilk Sky Pie Shop. Based on time-honored family recipes, the pie shop has grown to 11 locations throughout Texas and the Southeast.

 

Now, Buttermilk Sky Pie Shop is welcoming the latest addition to its brand, opening in Murfreesboro, Tennessee on Saturday, September 8. The new location will offer scratch-made pies in two-, four- and nine-inch sizes. Traditional pies like Southern Buttermilk, Chocolate Cream, Coconut Cream, Key Lime, Granny's Apple Pie, and I-40 Pecan will be served, as well as other handmade desserts.

 

“We are thrilled to offer the local community time-honored recipes perfect for any occasion,” says franchise owner Chris Smith. “As the owner, the most fun aspect is getting to meet and interact with the people of Murfreesboro. I love this town and am looking forward to building some lasting relationships.”

 

A ribbon cutting ceremony will take place on Thursday, September 6, followed by light refreshments and pie samples. The official grand opening follows two days later at 10 a.m. Free Four-Inch-Mini-Pies-a-Month-for-a-Year cards will be presented to the first 100 guests with purchase. Free pie samples and email vouchers will be given away as well.
