Acclaimed bread bakery and bake twentyfive 2017 list inclusion Manresa Bread has continued to evolve as it makes a name for itself on a national level. The latest step in that evolution takes place this fall, as Manresa Bread will open its third California location.
This new brick-and-mortar bakery in Campbell, California will bring a new concept in the form of an all-day café. From 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., Manresa head baker Avery Ruzicka and the rest of the baking team will bring signature breads, sandwiches, pastries, and more to a new audience.
In addition to its retail locations, Manresa also has a commissary, farmers’ market stalls in Palo Alto and Campbell, a wider network of distribution including Verve Coffee’s Northern California cafes, and national shipping available for 48 states.
“We are in the midst of an exciting time for the bakery, from a new mill that enables us to mill 90 percent of our grains in house, to the upcoming Campbell all-day café,” Ruzicka says. “We want to serve as a new community hub for the town, offering more ways for guests to enjoy their local bakery experience, from stopping in for a morning coffee and croissant to-go, to sitting down for a leisurely breakfast, lunch, or dinner.”
The menu at the new café includes Manresa Bread bakery favorites such as the signature Levain, Fruit and Nut Loaf, hand-rolled Croissants, Whole Wheat Chocolate Walnut Cookies, Whole Grain Salted Caramel Sourdough Donuts, Triple Chocolate Orange Panettone, and Chocolate Babka. They will be joined by new offerings such as a Bacon, Egg, and Cheese sandwich on an Onion Mustard Bun, Coconut and Pearls with Fresh Fruit and Manresa Bread Granola, Grain Bowls featuring puffed and cooked local grains, and Sourdough Cacio e Pepe.
