Southern-based biscuit restaurant chain Biscuitville has been making plenty of moves in the last year, embracing transparency at its restaurants and bringing in a former Krispy Kreme Doughnut Corporation executive to its team.
The latest announcement from Biscuitville is a new product that will join the all-day menu. Waffle Sandwiches feature two crispy Belgian waffles and are served in three varieties: Bacon, Egg, & Cheese; Spicy Chicken; or Sausage, Egg, & Cheese. Each sandwich comes with a side of Maple Brown Sugar Spread.
“Serving waffles as portable sandwiches offers a unique twist for our guests,” says Biscuitville president Kathie Niven. “Chicken and waffles are a Southern tradition we all love. We decided to take that legendary flavor combination and build on it by offering delicious Spicy Chicken; Bacon, Egg, & Cheese; and Sausage, Egg, & Cheese sandwich options.”
The Belgian waffles used in the sandwiches come from a partnership with Franklin, Tennessee-based Ginny’s Waffles. The waffles are made with real butter, no preservatives, and an imported pearl sugar from Belgium that holds the crunchy, sugary flavor.
“We’re thrilled to partner with Ginny’s Waffles as we introduce Biscuitville’s three new Waffle Sandwiches,” Niven says. “Ginny’s Waffles are gently sweetened and toasted to a perfect crisp. The uneven edges of the waffles make them a delight to see as well as to savor. Ginny’s Waffles are hand-crafted waffles at their very best and are the perfect complement to Biscuitville’s other fresh, locally sourced ingredients.”
