Artisanal bakery chain Woops! is the largest retailer of French macarons in the United States, and it is using its reach to make a positive impact during National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
During the weekend of October 19-21, Woops! bakeshops and kiosks will turn all of their 20+ macaron flavors pink. For every box of all-pink macarons customers buy in-store that weekend, the company will donate $1 to the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF).
Additionally, for the entire month of October, Woops! will donate $1 to NBCF for every box of macarons customers buy on its website. By simply checking “Make it Pink!” customers can help support breast cancer awareness in local communities and nationwide.
Woops! has a deep connection to the issue. “My mom was diagnosed with breast cancer more than 15 years ago and fought the battle in an inspiring and brave way. Many of our franchisees have friends and family who have battled the disease, giving an even deeper emotional resonance to getting involved in the fight for awareness,” says Woops! Chief Marketing and Design Officer Tal Avivi.
“Education and awareness of early detection methods are a woman’s best defense against breast cancer. Awareness is not possible without the funds for marketing and health promotion initiatives,” says Woops! franchisee Mindy Andrasek.
