According to the Tea Council of the USA, tea is the most widely consumed beverage in the world next to water, and it can be found in almost 80 percent of all U.S. households. In January, the council will be celebrating National Hot Tea Day, and it’s getting social media users in on the action in a big way.
The Tea Council is kicking off its third annual #IndividualiTEA Photo Sharing Sweepstakes to learn more about the stories of tea lovers across the nation. For a chance to win $500 and a year's supply of tea, people can simply brew up a cup of black, green, white, dark, or oolong tea and share a photo, video, or description on Instagram or Twitter with the hashtag #IndividualiTEA and tag @TeaCouncil.
The possibilities are endless for tea drinkers, as there are over 24 million ways to make tea. It can depend on tea type, brew time, choice of spices or sweeteners, milk preference, temperature, and more. Black tea is the most popular in the U.S., making up over 80 percent consumed, with green tea coming in second.
The #IndividualiTEA sweepstakes runs through January 31, 2019, timed perfectly to celebrate America's fourth annual National Hot Tea Day on January 12.
