In the spring of 2018, Rise Biscuits Donuts announced that it had reached a five-unit franchise deal for the greater Kansas City area, its first stores to be located in the Midwest.
The first of those Kansas City area stores will arrive in the spring of 2019. A late season opening is planned for the Prairie Village Shopping Center in Prairie Village, Kansas. It will replace Cafe Provence, a celebrated French restaurant that is moving to a larger space.
Flaky biscuits and sweet donuts are at the heart of Rise’s concept. It is also known for its innovative biscuit breakfast sandwiches, coming in savory flavors like avocado toast and smoked pork. The donuts bring the sweetness with flavors like crème brûlée and maple bacon.
Rise was founded in 2012 in Durham, North Carolina, and has since grown rapidly throughout North Carolina, South Carolina, Maryland, Virginia, Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, and Texas. The Kansas City area in both Missouri and Kansas will provide exciting opportunities for the brand.
“I was initially drawn to Rise Biscuits Donuts because of its high-quality product and family-friendly environment, which I think will be a welcome addition to the Kansas City area,” says franchisee Ryan Cook. “The gourmet donut concept offers something for everyone, from scratch-made donuts to made-to-order sandwiches served on Rise’s famous southern biscuits and rolls.”
