Hot chocolate is on the minds of many this time of year. Cold winter weather encourages people to drink warm beverages, especially sweet ones. For example, Varhona’s Hot Chocolate Festival gets underway tomorrow in New York City and Canada, and some of the top restaurants, bakeries, and chocolatiers will take part in the widely-attended festivities.
With National Hot Chocolate Day coming up at the end of the month, a noteworthy version of the beverage is being offered at an unlikely source, New York City’s DO, Cookie Dough Confections. The cookie dough bakery has a seasonal outpost at the Holiday Shops at Bryant Park, where it is serving a cookie dough hot chocolate.
DO’s version featured hot cocoa poured into a cup pressed with the brand’s signature chocolate chip cookie dough and topped with toasted marshmallows. It is currently being sold at the Bryant Park pop-up location for $5.
At the pop-up, guests can purchase cookie dough in popular flavors like Chocolate Chip and Cake Batter, as well as an additional winter flavor: Marshmallow Hot Cocoa. Snowflake cookies, Cookie DŌ Rice Krispies, and merchandise are also available.
