On Thursday, March 28, Taco Bell announced that it was testing a new product sure to excite fried dessert fans. Following in the footsteps of other fast food restaurants, the brand is now making its own cinnamon-sugar donut treat.
According to a press release, the new product takes “a warm, circular churro, deep fries it to a crisp golden brown then dusts it in cinnamon sugar” and looks similar to a French cruller donut but with cinnamon sugar dusting.
The Churro Donut is currently being tested at Taco Bell locations in Kansas City, Missouri. The $1 item joins the breakfast menu at those locations for a limited time. Taco Bell is touting it as “everything you know and love about a churro in the shape of a donut.”
As with other products in the past, if the test run goes well, consumers across the nation might soon be able to get their hands on these treats.
