On Wednesday, April 3, Au Bon Pain announced the grand opening of a location inside of the Cannon House Office Building in Washington, D.C., which is the oldest congressional office building.
Sodexo, the food service provider for the House of Representatives, partnered with the Chief Administrative Office of the House to add the popular fast-casual bakery café, as part of its efforts to introduce more branded dining concepts to the staff and guests who visit the Cannon building.
“We are honored to serve the hard-working members and staff at U.S. House of Representatives and their guests. We hope the excitement around Au Bon Pain will make the fast-casual bakery café a popular dining destination at the Cannon House Office Building,” says Brett Ladd, CEO Government, North America, Sodexo. “We look forward to adding more well-known brands to give customers additional dining options.”
The new Au Bon Pain retail location will serve its signature items including sandwiches, breads, pastries, salads, soups, and coffee, all in a welcoming café environment. It is the second of four branded options the Chief Administrative Office is bringing to the House this year at the request of members and staff who work long hours and want quality and convenient food options.
