For one day only on Saturday, April 20, two businesses in Long Beach, California will collaborate on a limited-edition dessert to celebrate 4/20, an unofficial holiday for many.
Local bakery The Pie Bar is teaming up with ice cream shop Long Beach Creamery for the Baked Long Beach, a one-of-a-kind dessert based on the famed Baked Alaska. Incorporating two of Long Beach’s staple desserts, the Baked Long Beach starts with a base layer of Key lime pie, is stacked with a large serving of strawberry mascarpone ice cream and is topped with fluffy toasted marshmallow.
The dessert was conceived by Long Beach locals Laurie Gray of The Pie Bar and Dina Amadril of Long Beach Creamery, friends who bonded over a shared love of culinary creations. That love is present in their dessert collaboration, which will be available while supplies last on April 20.
Gray and Amadril hope to continue this collaboration each month with a new limited release of The Baked Long Beach. Each release would feature new flavors and savory ingredients.
