The National Restaurant Association (NRA) is set to welcome over 65,000 attendees for the 100th anniversary of its NRA Show, taking place Saturday, May 18 through Tuesday, May 21. That’s a lot of mouths to feed, but one Chicago bakery is up to the task.
To celebrate the NRA Show’s centennial, Eli’s Cheesecake has created a 1,000-pound cheesecake to be shared Saturday during a special celebration. The team at Eli’s has been putting the finishing touches on the dessert, which is covered in colorful sprinkles.
The massive cheesecake will be sliced by NRA president and CEO Dawn Sweeney and Ted Balestreri, chairman of the 100th Anniversary celebration. It will then be served to show attendees at 2:30 p.m. CDT at McCormick Place’s Grand Concourse.
The National Restaurant Association Show is the place to explore everything that’s happening in the industry, such as equipment, supplies, food, beverage, and technology. The first edition of the show took place in Kansas City, Missouri in 1919.
