A new company is looking to promote a happy and healthy lifestyle through chocolate. The secret, it turns out, is mushrooms.
NUDE Chocolate has launched what it calls “enhanced chocolate” featuring reishi mushrooms. Among the benefits these mushrooms are thought to have include boosting immunity, balancing hormones, reducing inflammation, and improving the function of vital organs.
Each chocolate bar is made from a 70 percent dark chocolate cacao blend from Peru and Ecuador, featuring notes of ripe yellow fruits and hints of cool spices. They are available in three blends:
- MIND – A blueberry, hibiscus, and reishi herbal super blend promoting clarity and focus
- BODY – A strawberry, rose, and reishi herbal super blend promoting healing and vitality
- SOUL – A lavender, raspberries, and reishi herbal super blend promoting balance and alignment
“Dark chocolate on its own is a natural treat containing antioxidants. By fusing this with a carefully-selected blend of herbs, we have created a superfood product that we hope will promote health and happiness” says founder Matthew Postlethwaite, a British actor who has appeared in the Netflix series Peaky Blinders.
NUDE bars are dairy-free, gluten-free, and vegan. The toppings are sourced locally and the herbs are certified organic.
“We wanted to created something we haven’t seen in the market before, a chocolate bar that consumers wouldn't feel guilty about eating,” says certified herbalist Natasha Lloyd, who carefully selects the unique blend of herbs to include in each NUDE bar.
