On National Doughnut Day, Krispy Kreme Doughnuts made a challenge to its fans: Help us give away one million free doughnuts and we’ll give you a free taste of a new doughnut that is “out of this world great.”
Sure enough, the company met its goal on Friday, June 7, and so it is holding up its end of the deal. On Saturday, June 22, fans can go to participating Krispy Kreme locations to get a free doughnut.
Customers can try the new Original Filled Doughnut. Introduced to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the moon landing, these innovative ring doughnuts are filled with the customer’s choice of Krispy Kreme’s Classic Kreme and Chocolate Kreme.
“Krispy Kreme was at the launch of Apollo 11, serving fresh doughnuts to Americans witnessing liftoff of this monumental mission. As America prepares to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the moon landing, we want to give our fans a new taste experience that is out of this world,” says Dave Skena, Chief Marketing Officer for Krispy Kreme Doughnut Corporation.
