Manresa Bread’s all-day café in Campbell, California will soon host a dinner along with San Martin farm Spade & Plow. On Friday, July 26, the two will team up for the first in a series of monthly dinners featuring nearby farms.
The Spade & Plow dinner will feature a four-course menu showcasing the farm’s squash and squash blossoms, peppers, tomatoes, melons, tender soft greens and herbs and edible flowers. Manresa Bread partner and head baker Avery Ruzicka is a proponent of local growers and producers, which she uses to craft the café’s seasonal menus.
Forty seats are available for the event at a cost of $80 per person (with wine pairings at $45 presented by Sommelier Alyssa Twelker from Farm Wines Import highlighting natural wine pairings to complement each course).
The one-of-a-kind dinner experiences will celebrate the California harvest season and the neighboring farms that provide fresh ingredients at their prime.
The menu at Manresa Bread’s all-day café, which opened in November of 2018, features an expansion of offerings, from Ruzicka’s beloved house-milled sourdough breads as toasts and sandwiches to small plates and composed dishes, each incorporating a bread element. Guests can also enjoy laminated pastries, artisan loaves, and seasonal specialties like chocolate hazelnut panettone, chocolate walnut babka, and Breton-style kouign amann.
