After seven years in the iconic Delmar Loop in St. Louis, Missouri, Italian dessert specialist Piccione Pastry is closing its location, sad news for many in the area. However, the bakery will go out with a bang as it celebrates with a farewell tour of seven weeks for seven years.
Starting Tuesday, August 6, Piccione Pastry will feature one signature, fan-favorite item for a special price for one week. At the end of the week, that item will no longer be on the menu – extra incentive for customers to come in to the shop.
“We have truly enjoyed being a part of the Loop and a part of the Washington University community,” says Richard Nix, Jr., owner of Piccione Pastry. “From the beginning, we wanted to create a space where we could showcase our family recipes and I am honored we have given the cannoli new fans in St. Louis! We thank you for seven incredible years and look forward to our final weeks as we celebrate some of our most popular desserts one last time.”
The Farewell Tour schedule is as follows:
- Aug. 6-11: Gooey Butter Cake for $2
- Aug. 13-18: Napoleon for $4
- Aug. 20-25: Cheesecake for $3
- Aug. 27-Sept. 1: Fruit Tart for $4
- Sept. 3-8: Tiramisu for $4
- Sept. 10-15: Cassata Cake for $3
- Sept. 17-22: Cannoli (six traditional and four seasonal flavors) for $2 each
Many of the favorites at Piccione Pastry will continue to live on through Butler’s Boardroom, the drop-off catering division of Butler’s Pantry that is also owned by the Nix family.
