There’s no doubt about it – Americans love chocolate. With National Chocolate Day arriving on Monday, October 28, Lily’s Sweets looked at just how far that love goes.
A study commissioned by the low sugar chocolate company found that while 82 percent of U.S. adults claim to be limiting the amount of sugar in their diet, nearly 1 in 5 people are still eating chocolate at least once a day.
Chocolate is hard to quit for many people. In fact, these consumers love the treat so much they would give up many of their favorite things for a chance to win chocolate for a year.
Among the results:
- 51 percent says they’d give up their favorite alcoholic beverage for a week
- 48 percent say they’d give up makeup for a week
- 48 percent say they’d give up social media for a week
On National Chocolate Day, Lily’s Sweets will share a post on Instagram inviting fans to comment for a chance to win chocolate for a year. One winner will be randomly selected to receive a generous supply of chocolate - the equivalent to one Lily’s product a day for a year.
Additionally, 50 winners will be randomly selected to win a selection of Lily's products. Fortunately, these winners won’t have to give up anything in their lives to get the free chocolate.
