On Tuesday, October 29, Florida-based The Salty Donut will debut a Halloween collection of three specialty flavors. The shop, with locations in Wynwood and South Miami, will offer the donuts until Sunday, November 3.
Among the limited-edition flavors are the Coffin Mud Pie, the Cauldron Sour Apple, and the White Chocolate Skull. The Coffin Mud Pie is made with charcoal-colored brioche dough in the shape of a coffin, layered with Oreo crumble and cocoa glaze, and topped with a handmade chocolate coffin plaque and candy eyeball. The Cauldron Sour Apple is made with charcoal-colored brioche dough filled with sour apple curd, dipped in hard sugar, and topped with buttercream and homemade bubble sugar. The White Chocolate Skull is made with brioche dough and dipped in a white chocolate glaze.
On Thursday, October 31, the three Halloween donuts will be available as part of a special UberEats four-pack containing two White Chocolate Skulls, one Coffin Mud Pie, and one Cauldron Sour Apple. Delivery fees on the four-pack will be waived.
The offer is a way for The Salty Donut to promote its delivery through UberEats, which recently launched at the South Miami location.
“We understand not everyone can get out on Halloween day,” co-owner Amanda Rodriguez tells Miami New Times. “We’re also making these doughnuts available via UberEats, so hopefully this will give everyone the chance to try them. This year’s flavors are seriously that good.”
