Glendora, California’s The Donut Man is known for its fruit-stuffed donuts, most notably the peach and strawberry versions. Customers can only buy these when the fruit is in season, making them even more appealing.
Starting in February, the shop’s popular donuts will be coming to Los Angeles. The city’s Grand Central Market will be the site of The Donut Man’s second location. The Grand Central spot will be open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.
“We have a big enough following and group of fans that we can’t produce what we would like to at one location,” The Donut Man general manager Aaron Wearp tells The Los Angeles Times. “It’s impossible — during our busiest times we’re running out of doughnuts.”
The Donut Man, which has been around for over 45 years, is a historic business, so it would make sense that the business would expand to a historic location such as Grand Central Market. “The market is a very historical place and the Donut Man is on Historic Route 66,” Wearp says. “We felt like it would be great to partner with someone who cherishes that history.”
The new shop is set to open before the start of strawberry season, which is typically a busy season for The Donut Man. A variety of customer favorites will also be available.
