In celebration of Giving Tuesday and the generous nature of the holiday season, San Diego’s Extraordinary Desserts is teaming up with a local nonprofit organization for a good cause.

A baking institution that is part of the city’s dynamic food scene, Extraordinary Desserts will look to generate money for Berry Good Food, which supports locally and sustainably grown food. During the month of December, 20 percent of the proceeds from each slice of the bakery’s Extraordinary Carrot Cake will go to the organization and its goal.

The Extraordinary Carrot Cake features ingredients such as carrots, golden raisins, orange zest, chunks of pineapple, walnuts, and coconut. The cake is layered with cream cheese mousse and is light, nutty, and full of flavor.

“We love to do these kind of collaborations because we really believe in having great, healthy food for every age, every person, whatever we can do,” says Extraordinary Desserts owner Karen Krasne.
