Magnolia Bakery, one of the biggest names in retail baking, has announced that it is still operating in the West Village, Rockefeller Center, Penn Station, and the Upper West Side locations of New York City. Due to local store and mall closures, Magnolia Bakery has closed locations in Boston, Chicago, Washington, D.C., Grand Central Terminal (New York City), and Bloomingdale’s (New York City).
The bakery chain is offering easy, no contact or limited-contact ways for customers to get its freshly-baked desserts. Customers in range of any of these locations can get same-day delivery on fan favorites, including banana pudding, cupcakes, brownies, and cookies. This can be accomplished one of two ways:
- On Magnolia Bakery’s website, customers can get free delivery when ordering through Toast within delivery ranges.
- Through Uber Eats, this week only, customers can buy one and get one free on banana pudding, classic cupcakes, and double fudge brownies.
Magnolia Bakery is also doing advanced order for pickup only, and nationwide shipping on banana pudding, cupcakes, cakes, and more through Goldbelly.
For the locations that remain open, Magnolia Bakery is stressing the importance of extreme cleanliness. “In an effort to minimize the threat of COVID-19 at all of our operating locations as much as possible, we are disinfecting the stores’ POS systems, counters, and work stations multiple times a day. We have hand sanitizer available at each store as well for our employees and customers. Additionally, our entire staff has been given detailed information about the importance of washing their hands, COVID-19 symptoms, and what to do if they feel unwell,” the bakery chain says on its website.
