Voodoo Doughnut has announced its quarterly give-back campaign, partnering with the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) through the creation of an exclusive limited-time doughnut. Available now through September 30, the Key Lime Crush doughnut is a yeast raised shell with key lime filling, vanilla frosting, crushed graham crackers and a caramel drizzle.
A portion of the proceeds from every Key Lime Crush doughnut sold will go directly to NAMI, the nation’s largest grassroots mental health organization dedicated to building better lives for the millions of Americans affected by mental illness, and its local organizations. The Key Lime Crush will be sold at participating Voodoo Doughnut locations in Portland and Eugene, OR; Austin and Houston, TX; and Denver, CO.
“NAMI is thankful for this partnership with Voodoo Doughnut,” says Chuck Harman, chief development officer at NAMI. “This unique opportunity allows us to broaden our reach and message to better serve people affected by mental illness through advocacy, education, support and public awareness.”
“Giving back to the communities and those we serve is one of Voodoo’s fundamental values,” says Chris Schultz, chief executive officer at Voodoo Doughnut. “There are so many people who are facing challenges as they cope with mental illness and just need help. We are proud to partner with NAMI, and support their programs and resources that provide hope, recovery and wellness.”
Since 2019, Voodoo Doughnut has donated more than $34,000 to charities through its Quarterly Doughnut Charitable Campaign. The company plans to open additional stores in 2020 and beyond, helping to increase both funds and awareness for its charitable partners.
