Carpigiani Gelato University, an international gelato school with 20 campuses in 19 different countries, is providing its instructors’ know-how for a new and enriched catalogue of online courses. Interested individuals can now begin from the first date of the Basic Gelato Course on Monday, November 9 at 9 am (GMT -4).
The course lasts five days (November 9-13) and consists of four hours of theory and demonstration and one hour of group discussion each day. After the Basic Course students will have a solid knowledge of Italian artisan gelato and will be able to understand ingredients and different production methods, produce gelato, sorbet and stick gelato, plan investments, compare retail strategies and respect hygiene criteria in the laboratory.
From there, students can continue with the Intermediate Gelato Course (first date available on November 16) and the Advanced Gelato Course (first date available on November 23).
Those interested in American artisan ice cream can now begin from the “E-taste” series available starting Wednesday, November 18. It consists of five 1 hour and a half lessons with a downloadable workbook that summarize the fundamental elements of a high-quality ice cream and how to make it.
“This project allows anyone to enter our main campus and try out the teaching methodology that has given rise to numerous success stories worldwide since 2003,” says Kaori Ito, Carpigiani Gelato University director. “Thousands of former students have changed their lives with gelato and the market still offers many business opportunities. Thanks to technology we are now able to get close to those who haven’t taken the first step yet, but have a great passion for gelato and cooking.”
For professionals, the online education goes from the current “Home Delivery Solution” in Italian and English to advanced and specific courses such as “Gelato for lactose intolerant” or “Gelato with alcoholic drinks”. These courses are available on the Carpigiani Gelato University’s website and the Frozen Dessert University website in the “Online Courses” area.
