Food delivery platform Grubhub recently looked at data from more than 30 million diners this year to determine its top trending dishes. Among those were several comfort foods, including spicy chicken sandwiches, chicken burrito bowls, fried chicken wings and waffle fries.
Now the Grubhub team is looking to see which items will lead the way in the new year. Based on top trending foods on the platform over the past three years, Grubhub predicts breakfast orders will take off and veggie options will become more popular.
Below are the food orders claiming the top spots for 2021:
- Plant-based sausage burrito
- Bacon egg cheese sandwich
- Cauliflower wings
- Sausage sandwich
- Mushroom veggie burger
- Karaage (Japanese fried chicken)
- Loaded cheesesteak
- Country fried steak
- Beef bulgogi
- Baja fish tacos
With the cold weather months settling in and as we continue to deal with the coronavirus pandemic heading into 2021, food delivery and comfort foods will be as important as ever.
