Duck Donuts has announced that its Toco Hills, Atlanta, Georgia donut shop and its products received Kosher Certification by the Atlanta Kashruth Commission (AKC), the largest kosher supervision agency in the Southeast. This makes it the first Duck Donuts location in the country to receive such a certification.
The Kosher Certification verifies that the Toco Hills Duck Donuts’ ingredients, shop and actual production of its menu items have no trace of non-kosher substances.
“The decision was made to transition the Toco Hills location to a kosher donut shop after simply responding to the request from those in our local community who have food restrictions for religious reasons,” says André Walters, Charlotte, North Carolina and Atlanta franchise owner. “Now we’ve expanded the opportunity to delight our guests who follow kosher principles with our warm, delicious and made-to-order donuts, and our Kosher Certification proves that our product and operations maintain high quality standards.”
“We are thrilled our Toco Hills donut shop, products and made-to-order process are now Kosher Certified,” adds Russ DiGilio, Duck Donuts founder and chief executive officer. “Now that we have completed our first conversion, we will continue to explore additional opportunities for new and existing franchisees.”
Duck Donuts currently has 98 US and one international open franchise locations and more than 145 additional contracts in 26 states and 4 countries.
