Chicago restaurant Robert Et Fils' pastry chef Cati Molnar has created an exciting new take on a popular treat for National Ice Cream Month.
Her latest creation is an innovative twist on the classic ice cream sandwich, a Macaron Glacé. The cookie ice cream sandwich combines French-style ice cream and macarons, and similar to Robert Et Fils’s menu, the flavors of the sweet treat rotate.
Currently, Molnar is serving up a vanilla macaron filled with Tahitian vanilla bean ice cream and apricot-elderflower jam. Diners can enjoy the sweet summer treat on the Robert Et Fils patio for $12.
Robert Et Fils is located in Chicago’s North center and offers a “Parisian fare” dining experience. Utilizing the essence of old-school French gastronomy with an American playfulness, the menu explores modern culinary techniques and technology while offering thoughtful, elevated service.
Before joining Robert Et Fils, Molnar worked at Chicago bakery Lost Larson, where she made pastries inspired by French classics.
