Runamok Maple is moving outside maple syrup with a new line of honeys across three categories; varietal, hot and infused. The varietal lineup includes Florida Orange Blossom, High Plains Clover and Beekeeper’s Cut. The three hot honeys are Chipotle Morita Infused, Chile de Arbol Infused and Szechuan Peppercorn Infused. The two infused honeys are Lemon Verbena Infused and Hibiscus Flower Infused.

The Florida Orange Blossom is raw American honey that comes from hives situated in a citrus grove.

The High Plains Clover variety is sourced from hives located in the high plains of Montana and features earthy notes, Runamok said.

The Beekeeper’s Cut honey comes from northern Appalachian autumn wildflower meadows, which contain asters, rudbeckia and goldenrod.

The Chipotle Morita Infused flavor features fiery pepper flavor and a hint of smoke.

The Chile de Arbol Infused honey is the spiciest of the Runamok Honey collection and has a heat level similar to cayenne, Runamok said. The honey is infused with de arbol chili pepper heat and flavor.

The Szechuan Peppercorn Infused variety is a sweet and savory honey infused with piney Szechuan peppercorns.

The Lemon Verbena Infused honey boasts a citrus flavor without acidity pairs with herbal notes, Runamok said.

The Hibiscus Flower Infused offering features the flavors of raspberry and lemon imparted by organic hibiscus flowers.

“With the help of our resident beekeeper, we have worked hard to source the best, most unique honey in the US,” says Laura Sorkin, co-founder of Runamok. “Our primary focus has been finding rare varietals to bring to our customers, and for the hot and infused varieties, we wanted to preserve the rich base flavor of our honeys and pair it with just the right amount of heat and essence to expand the ways this wonderful ingredient can be used.”
