Collin Street Bakery, one of the most famous providers of fruitcake in the country, has collaborated with Shiner Beer on the first-ever Fruitcake Pastry Porter — a limited edition beer from Shiner’s Brewer’s Pride series. Released just in time for the holidays, Fruitcake Pastry Porter is inspired by the bakery’s DeLuxe Fruitcake.

Available for a limited time, the fruitcake style pastry porter is brewed with sweet Texas pecans and rich cherry, barrel aged to perfection.

“Shiner reached out to us and said, ‘Hey, we’d like to do a fun co-branding venture with the Collin Street Bakery,” says Thomas McNutt, executive vice president at Collin Street Bakery. “And I responded by saying, ‘Are you sure you’ve got the right number?’ I was so flattered that they’d think of us.”

“Initially, Shiner suggested the idea of a pairing beer —a beer that would pair nicely with fruitcake,” says McNutt. “But then, our Chief Marketing Officier, James Manning, said ‘Hey, why don't we make a beer that resembles our fruitcake.’ That idea stuck. When you think of Christmas, we bet a couple of things come to mind: family, friends, and fruitcake. And when you think fruitcake, we bet you think of Collin Street Bakery’s DeLuxe Fruitcake.”
