Icing Smiles is a nonprofit organization that provides custom celebration cakes to families impacted by the critical illness of a child, with the goal of providing a temporary escape from worry and creating positive memories during a difficult time. The organization relies on a generous team of volunteer bakers and cake artists around the country to fulfill this mission.
Icing Smiles recently reached an important milestone in its 11-year history. On Wednesday, December 15, the organization announced that it had delivered its 25,000th cake. With the help of Mike Elder of Black Sheep Custom Cakes in Olathe, Kansas, Icing Smiles was able to celebrate Josiah Graczyk’s 11th birthday. This dirt bike cake was not only a celebration of Jo-Jo (as he’s called), but a special milestone for Icing Smiles.
Leading up to cake 25,000, Icing Smiles showcased 25 of its admin team’s favorite cake stories. Icing Smiles, and cakes like Josiah’s, are made possible through the generous donations from its supporters. Interested individuals and groups can make donations to Icing Smiles on its website.
