With National Cheesecake Day upcoming later this month, The Cheesecake Factory has announced a special flavor – Classic Basque Cheesecake – in celebration.
Created in San Sebastian, Spain more than 30 years ago, Basque cheesecake is a very unique, crustless cheesecake with a burnt top and an ultra-creamy, custard-like center, and sweet caramelized notes. The Cheesecake Factory’s version is a classic recipe, covered with fresh berries and whipped cream.
On National Cheesecake Day, $1 per slice of all cheesecake flavors sold will be donated to Feeding America, the nation’s largest organization dedicated to fighting domestic hunger through a network of food banks. Additionally, for every slice of Classic Basque Cheesecake sold July 31, 2022 through July 29, 2023, The Cheesecake Factory will donate 25 cents to Feeding America.
The Cheesecake Factory has donated more than $5.9 million to Feeding America since 2008 through the sale of its specially designated cheesecakes.
“The Cheesecake Factory is honored to commemorate National Cheesecake Day by continuing our longstanding support of Feeding America’s hunger-relief efforts,” says David Overton, founder and chief executive officer of The Cheesecake Factory Incorporated. “We are also pleased to mark this special occasion by introducing our new Classic Basque Cheesecake. It’s a completely different style of cheesecake than my mother’s Original recipe, and we are looking forward to adding it to our menu.”
