Duck Donuts has announced the continuation of its Canadian expansion with the recent signing of a multi-unit franchise agreement awarding the rights to develop and operate in Edmonton, a city in Alberta, Canada.
The rapidly growing chain recently hired industry veteran Costas Siountres to serve as the company’s first director of Canadian development. As the director of Canadian development, Siountres provides guidance on strategic direction, for overall system growth in Canada. Siountres is responsible for managing the process from the sourcing of leads through the awarding of the franchise agreements.
“International expansion is a key component in our growth strategy and we are delighted to continue expanding our presence in Canada,” says Eric Lavinder, Duck Donuts chief development officer. “Costas brings a wealth of knowledge and connections to the team and will play an integral role in helping us quickly grow the brand throughout Canada.”
The third quarter of 2022 was a busy time for Duck Donuts, as it signed 10 franchise agreements for 13 shops in the US. The newest franchise partners have signed on in Marietta, Georgia and Lexington, Kentucky; Polk City, Iowa; Kansas City, Kansas; College Park and Bowie, Maryland; Ellicott City, Maryland; Summerlin, Nevada; Powder Springs, Colorado; St. George and Cedar Point, Utah; South Riding, Virginia; and Winchester, Virginia.
