One of Chicago’s leading paczki makers, Delightful Pastries, is getting ready for Fat Tuesday, also known as Paczki Day, on February 21 by stocking up on the tasty pastry.

The bakery, which is celebrating its 22^nd anniversary this year, is offering pre-orders on paczki up until Friday, February 17. Owner Dobra Bielinski recommends ordering in advance, with a minimum order being a dozen. Delightful Pastries, normally closed on Sundays, will be open on Sunday, February 19 to accommodate early order pickup.

“We encourage everyone to call and order in advance to minimize long waits,” says Bielinski. “We will have social distancing precautions, and for those who have pre-ordered, curbside pickup is available by calling 773-545-7215 when you arrive.”

Delightful Pastries has a wide variety of paczki flavors for all tastes. Traditional flavors include Custard Topped with Chocolate Fudge, Apricot Jelly, Raspberry Jelly, Rose Pedal Jelly and Plum Butter, and for the more adventurous, gourmet flavors include Fresh Strawberry and Whipped Cream; Fresh Strawberry; Passion Fruit Jelly, and German Chocolate with pecans and coconut custard topping. A new flavor offered this year is Dulce de Leche.

Delightful Pastries is famous for its signature Drunken Paczki, with three booze-filled options: Vodka & Vanilla Bean Custard, Jameson Whiskey with Chocolate Custard and Moonshine & Lemon.
