With January being National Soup Month, Panera Bread is declaring the nation’s favorite soup, through the results of a recently conducted survey.
According to the bakery-café chain, Broccoli Cheddar is America’s favorite soup, with 49 states choosing it as their top pick. The outlier was Minnesota, which chose Cream of Chicken & Wild Rice as its top pick.
The top three favorite soups nationwide are:
- Broccoli Cheddar Soup with 54.6M servings
- Homestyle Chicken Noodle Soup with 23M servings
- Creamy Tomato Soup with 22.3M servings
Panera also looked to settle the debate of whether Americans sip their soup like a beverage, or use a spoon to eat it. Over 74 percent use a spoon to eat soup, while nearly 26 percent sip it like a beverage.
Those made hungry by these findings can currently head to the Panera app to get $1 off soup, with the purchase of an entrée, using code SOUP at checkout.
