Sprinkles has announced its strategic franchise expansion into South Korea, marking the first step in a plan to bring its iconic creations to the world, with Singapore and Malaysia to follow shortly after.
Working closely with international franchise partners SPC Samlip, known for successfully bringing American brands to Asia, and Bridgeport Investments, Sprinkles plans to open over 18 bakeries internationally starting in 2024. Stateside, the brand will work with women-owned companies including RIC Operating Group, Celebration Cupcakes and WTX Cupcakes, LLC as it continues to expand local franchises across the US.
“Sprinkles is a beloved global brand and we are thrilled to see so much interest,” says Dan Mesches, chief executive officer of Sprinkles. “We are excited to embark on this global franchising journey and share unforgettable moments of joy. We are also proud to partner with the incredible women at the helm of our US franchise bakeries, continuing our mission of growing responsibly and equitably.”
Known for its handcrafted, freshly baked cupcakes, cakes, cookies and brownies, Sprinkles has over 50 new bakeries slated for launch within the next few years.
“Sprinkles’ legacy is rooted in creating moments of joy and celebration,” says Brett Willis, Sprinkles vice president of development. “The international franchise expansion is a testament to our dedication to sharing these moments on a global scale. We have built out a full team to support franchisees, including Operations, Training, Marketing and Construction. With strong demand for other countries, these franchisee signings are only the start to developing our global brand presence as we intend to sign franchises in Europe, South American and additional ASEAN countries.”
