James Beard Award-winning pastry chef Dominique Ansel is partnering with PopUp Bagels for one weekend only to create the ultimate bagel and schmear combo... with a French twist.
Available at Dominique Ansel Bakery in Soho NYC from Friday, April 19 through Sunday, April 21, the Garlic Butter Escargot Schmear & Parmesan Gruyère Bagel ($18.50) features garlick-y escargot sauteed with brown butter and fresh herbs, folded into confit garlic cream cheese and crème fraîche and topped with buttery parmesan panko breadcrumbs.
It's all served warm and topped with a whole shell-on escargot (complete with melted garlic butter to drizzle overtop), along with a hot-out-of-the-oven Parmesan Gruyère Bagel (a one-of-a-kind recipe created exclusively for this special weekend), courtesy of PopUp Bagels.
