The Underground Donut Tour has completed its search for America's Greatest Donuts. After asking fans across the country to nominate their favorite donuts and donut shops and then receiving over 33,000 votes for the nominees, the contest winners have been revealed.
For the third year in a row, the Overall Fan Favorite with more votes than any other donut shop was Rise 'n Roll Bakery of Indiana. Its Cinnamon Caramel Donut was voted far and away the most popular donut in America. Along with winning Overall Fan Favorite, Rise 'n Roll also won a number of other categories including Greatest Cider Donut, Greatest Cream Filled, Greatest Old-Fashioned and several more for a total of ten categories.
D&D's Donuts, based in Chicago, won again this year for Greatest Fritter in America (along with two other categories). New winners this year included Donut Man of Glendora, California, Bear Donut of New York City and Beacon Doughnuts of Chicago.

Each winning shop receives an award and the ability to tout that they have some of America’s Greatest Donuts. Rise ‘n Roll, with the most overall votes, will receive a $500 prize. Additionally, five participants from across America will be picked to come and attend the Underground Donut Tour for free in any of its cities.
