Krispy Kreme Doughnuts has announced that it is bringing back its popular Chocolate Glazed Doughnuts this Saturday and Sunday only, July 6 and 7, in celebration of Sunday’s World Chocolate Day.

It will be the only time in 2024 that the chain offers its iconic Original Glazed Doughnut smothered in a rich chocolate glaze. To sweeten the deal, Krispy Kreme is offering 50 percent off a dozen Chocolate Glazed doughnuts with the purchase of any dozen at regular price.

Krispy Kreme first introduced Chocolate Glazed in 2017 to celebrate that year’s total solar eclipse. The brand then offered Chocolate Glazed doughnuts on six continents in 2018 for World Chocolate Day. Since then, sightings of Chocolate Glazed have been rare.

“There’s nothing like our Chocolate Glazed doughnut, it’s a rare and special treat,” says Dave Skena, global chief brand officer for Krispy Kreme. “From watching the chocolate glaze waterfall to the aroma of chocolate taking over shops to the taste of our fresh doughnuts bathed in chocolate glaze – there’s no better way to celebrate World Chocolate Day.”

Fans can enjoy Chocolate Glazed doughnuts Saturday and Sunday at participating Krispy Kreme shops throughout the US, available in-shop and for pickup or delivery via Krispy Kreme’s app and website while supplies last.
