Retail bakeries are always looking for ways to stand out from the crowd and entice customers to purchase a tasty treat. Limited-time offers are a great way to do that, and it’s especially helpful when bakeries can tie those into a holiday.

In a March 2024 consumer survey, Datassential found that 65 percent of consumers associate the fall season with limited-time offers (LTOs) from restaurants, and 59 percent of consumers are interested in purchasing limited-edition retail items or restaurant specials/LTOs in the fall.

This season, there are plenty of holidays to target that will bring in sales. But what about the days and weeks when there isn’t an imminent major event? That’s where all-idays come into play.

Beyond traditional events are all-idays, which celebrate just about everything else. This innovative concept encourages bakeries to seize the magic in everyday moments and turn them into something truly special. With all-idays, every day can become an opportunity to celebrate.

According to Dawn Foods, there are ample opportunities to increase store sales and drive awareness during otherwise ordinary days this season. October, in particular, brings a wave of fall-inspired holidays and events, beyond just Halloween. There’s the beloved pumpkin spice season, football season and myriad other possibilities throughout the month.

National Pumpkin Spice Day takes place on Tuesday, October 1. Pumpkin spice products are incredibly popular throughout the season, so take advantage of this with your own special offerings. Dawn Foods provides inspiration on its page, including recipes for pumpkin spice muffins, pumpkin spice donuts and pumpkin spice latte cupcakes, among many others.

Other great event ideas to capitalize on throughout the month include National Coaches Day (Oct. 6), National Flowers Day (Oct. 7), National Chocolate Cupcake Day (Oct. 18) and National Boston Cream Pie Day (Oct. 23).

These all-idays allow you to bring an extra bit of fun to your bakery. You can create new products specifically for these events, or you can promote existing products that fit into these events and spotlight them in a creative way.
