Although the MLB playoffs did not turn out as they had hoped following a series loss to the New York Yankees, there was plenty to be excited about for the Kansas City Royals and its fans this October. Ahead of its first home playoff game since 2015, the franchise introduced a special menu of new concession items.
Among them were the new Sweet Baby Ray’s Crown Stick Buns, courtesy of Aramark Sports + Entertainment. They capture the flavors of fall and iconic Kansas City barbeque, featuring croissant sheets, sticky caramel, cinnamon, brown sugar crumble, pulled pork and apple barbeque sauce.
Additional concessions scattered around the Royals’ Kauffman Stadium included:
- Home Run Cornbread Skillet – Blue jalapeno cheddar cornbread, burnt ends, BBQ sauce, shredded cheddar, charred corn and jalapeno slaw
- The Mac and Jack – Jalapeno brisket sausage topped with in-house mac and cheese, crispy cornbread crumbles, hot honey drizzle and green onion, served with onion rings
- Blue Moon Pie – Two oatmeal cookies, with marshmallow ice cream, chocolate dip and blue white chocolate drizzle
- Back to Blueberry – Two funnel cake buns filled with a slice of cheesecake, blueberry compote, cinnamon toast crunch cereal and caramelized bananas
