Bakers looking to start a food truck will be able to get the recipe for success from bakery owners who’ve done it themselves, thanks to an upcoming webinar from the Retail Bakers of America (RBA).
Attendees will learn about the benefits and logistics of running a successful bakery truck through a panel of experts who will share their firsthand experiences and insights on what it takes to thrive in the mobile bakery business.
A bakery on wheels can increase visibility, customer reach and branding opportunities, offering flexibility that a brick-and-mortar shop might not. Panelists will provide insights into the operational side, from choosing between baking in a commissary versus in-truck, to managing power needs, costs and developing a solid business plan. They will also share how to attract and retain a loyal customer base with effective marketing strategies tailored for the food truck environment.
Speakers include:
- Olga Sagan, owner of Piroshky Piroshky (Seattle, WA) – Under her leadership, the bakery has expanded its reach to five locations and a successful food truck venture. Olga will share her journey, detailing the strategic decisions and challenges faced while taking her business mobile. Her experience in leadership and business growth, particularly in the context of a bakery food truck, will provide invaluable insights for aspiring food truck owners.
- Jenny Lamble, owner of Be Happy Pie Company (Evansville, IN) – Although her bakery doesn’t operate its own food truck, Jenny will share how hosting food trucks has become a valuable part of her bakery’s business model. She will discuss the benefits of hosting food trucks, how it complements her bakery’s offerings and the impact it has had on customer engagement and business growth.
- Anthony DiNardo, owner of Henri’s Bakery & Deli (Atlanta, GA) – Henri’s Bakery & Deli operates a successful food truck, which plays an integral role in their business. Anthony will share insights on running a food truck alongside a multi-location bakery, discussing the operational and strategic aspects of this model and how it supports Henri’s continued success.
Bakery on Wheels: How to Launch and Grow a Bakery Food Truck, taking place Tuesday, November 12, will be available to RBA members for a price of $10, RBA student members for $5 and non-members for $30.
