According to Three Brothers Bakery, many people from Louisiana have deemed the Houston, Texas bakery as having as good a king cake as the ones they had at home. There is a reason for that happening.
About ten years ago the team from Three Brothers Bakery went to a bakery convention in New Orleans during Mardi Gras season and went on a bus tour of about nine different area bakeries, coming home with about nine different king cakes to try and decide what they liked best about each one. Then the team reformulated the bakery’s king cake into what it is today.
All Three Brothers Bakery king cakes are decorated with Mardi Gras beads and other seasonal decorations and there is, of course, a traditional baby for someone to find.
Three Brothers Bakery is ready for Mardi Gras season 2025 beginning on Monday, January 6 and ending on Fat Tuesday, March 4. All of four its locations will have king cakes, cupcakes, dipped decorated cookies, petit fours and more themed treats available for purchase in store or online for pickup at all of the locations.
King cake options include:
- King cake plain (no filling) – $20 each
- King cake with cheese only filling – $30 each
- King cake with choice of the following for $30 each:
- Cheese
- Strawberry/Cheese
- Raspberry/Cheese
- Pecan Praline
Three Brothers Bakery is all about tradition. The bakery began in Chrzanow, Poland circa 1825, and preserved its traditions despite the family’s concentration camp imprisonment during the Holocaust. Their liberation and subsequent move to America brought Eastern European scratch baking traditions to the Houston area.
