Krispy Kreme is going green on Friday, March 17. In celebration of St. Patrick’s Day, the national chain is making its traditional glazed doughnuts more festive by dyeing them green as per its annual tradition.
Dubbing the original glazed doughnuts as “O’riginal Glazed”, these treats are being limited to the holiday only.
"St. Patrick's Day is the perfect occasion to change the color of the Original Glazed, and our customers love sharing them with family and friends," says Jackie Woodward, Chief Marketing Officer of Krispy Kreme Doughnuts. "What's even rarer - like finding a four-leaf clover - is altering the name of such an iconic product. We've never done it. But in this instance, it's fun and joyful, just like the holiday."
Krispy Kreme is also encouraging its customers to use the hashtag #GreenDoughnuts on social media to share in the celebration.
