Simma’s Bakery in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin was named the 2017 Bakery Operation of the Year by the Wisconsin Bakers Association. The award was presented Monday, March 13 at the WBA’s Awards & Appetizers Networking Evening in Milwaukee, in conjunction with the Midwest Foodservice Expo.
Owned by Mark and Peggy Carollo, Simma’s was one of six Wisconsin bakeries nominated for the award. The award is sponsored by Valley Bakers Cooperative Association and was created back in 2001 to recognize an outstanding bakery operation annually.
“We hope to continue to build on the reputation that Simma’s has developed over the last 32 years and our decision to purchase our building and double the size of our bakery during our recent expansion hopefully shows the community our commitment to continue to serve the Wauwatosa and surrounding areas,” said the Carollos in their nomination.
Simma’s specializes in an award-winning classic cheesecake, and is known for wedding cakes, pastries, conventional cakes, and morning buns.
