Urban Cookies, the winner of a 2011 episode of Food Network’s Cupcake Wars, has found a new home in Phoenix.
The popular bakery is closing on March 30 at its current location and the following day on April 1 will open at its brand new space just two miles away at Seventh and Sheridan streets, at Sheridan Place, in uptown Phoenix.
The space is much larger, as Urban Cookies has required a larger facility to its business growth and increased production.
Urban Cookies had been at its current location since 2005 under owners Shaun and Brady Breese. They had thought about moving for a while with no action, but recently found a great opportunity and decided to finally make it happen.
“We considered staying and letting our lease run out, but felt like it was a good time to be moving. There's so much new stuff and so many new opportunities out there. We thought, 'Let's just try to get this done.' It was the kick in the pants needed,” they tell The Arizona Republic.
The new location will feature the retail shop and a bakery production space with a large window so that customers can watch the process.
