In celebration of wedding season, Blue Bell Ice Cream has created a new wedding cake flavor for brides to go along with its previous version for grooms which came out in 2009.

Bride’s and Groom’s Cake ice cream flavors are available for a limited time. The new Bride’s Cake flavor features almond ice cream with white cake pieces surrounded by a rich amaretto cream cheese icing swirl. The previously-introduced Groom’s Cake flavor features chocolate ice cream with chocolate cake pieces and chocolate-coated strawberry hearts, surrounded by swirls of strawberry sauce and chocolate icing.

“We have heard from fans who serve Blue Bell Ice Cream at their weddings in place of the traditional cake. Now you can have both,” says Jenny Van Dorf, Blue Bell public relations manager. “Our Bride’s Cake, with its almond ice cream and amaretto cream cheese icing swirl, was inspired by popular wedding cake flavors.  And the tasty cake pieces are the perfect addition. ”  

Van Dorf says the two flavors pair well together. “We introduced Groom’s Cake in 2009. The idea came from an actual groom’s cake one of our employees tasted at a family wedding. We are excited to bring Groom’s Cake Ice Cream back to our line up and pair it with our new Bride’s Cake Ice Cream. Quite the match, I would say!” she says.

Backed by these exciting new flavors, ice cream will perhaps become a new dessert tradition at wedding celebrations all over the country.
