LINDAR's new Simply Secure packaging for cake and pies have tabs that snap into place for security and freshness.
One case in point is a line of new Simply Secure packaging for cakes and pies, unveiled by LINDAR at the recent IDDBA show in Anaheim, Calif. The containers, described as “tamper obvious,” have tabs that snap into place for both security and freshness. The line includes containers for 5-inch to 8-inch round cakes, one-quarter and one-half sheet cakes and 6-, 8- and 9-inch pies.
The prevention of tampering, coupled with the ongoing push for freshness and premium appearance, is evident in other new packaging as well. Anchor Packaging has added new sizes to its line of SAFE PINCH tamper-evident hinged packages, with a one-step “pinch to open” design that provides a visible and audible separation when the hinge is broken.
Inline Plastics recently added 6 inch-by-6 inch SnackWare containers to its line of Safe-T fresh packaging.
Tamper resistance was also a key driver behind the new ClearPac SafeSeal tamper-evident and tamper-resident containers from Dart Counter. Those containers, including a new line of bowls, feature a “tamper alert” hinge that protrudes when torn but remains attached to the container for recloseability.
Meanwhile, as snacking has moved from an occasion to its own daypart, according to the latest MenuTrends Keynote Report from Datassential, snack packaging also takes into account the prevention or evidence of tampering. Inline Plastics recently added 6 inch-by-6 inch SnackWare containers to its line of Safe-T fresh packaging, designed for retailers who pack sweets and grab-and-go snacks.
