On Monday, June 12, the Golden State Warriors defeated the Cleveland Cavaliers to win the 2017 NBA Championship. On Wednesday, a Bay Area bakery sent the Warriors an impressive cake as a congratulatory message.
Gala Bakery in San Lorenzo, California (which is about an hour southeast of Oakland) put together the stacked cake, which features several layers representing the team. Those layers include a Warriors hat on top, the team’s motto, the players and coaches’ faces, the Larry O’Brien Championship Trophy, a Warriors jersey, and Oracle Arena (the team’s home).
The Warriors championship parade and rally is set for Thursday, June 15. It takes place in Oakland and is expected to have over one million spectators.
