Actor Danny Trejo opened his new venture, Trejo’s Coffee & Donuts, in Los Angeles in May. Following the success of his taco restaurants, he turned his attention to the donut game.
The shop stands out for a variety of reasons. For one, the exterior is colored hot pink, making it eye-catching from the street. Another reason Trejo’s Coffee & Donuts has gained plenty of attention is its flavorful donuts.
One such newsworthy donut is the Nacho Donut, a spicy/savory combination consisting of a raised donut, hot sauce, jalapenos, sour cream, cheddar cheese, and chives.
“I love everything about it,” Trejo tells Observer. “It’s good and spicy. We put a little Mexican flavor in there. If I give you the secret sauce, I’d have to kill you.”
The shop also sells an original roasted blend coffee, as well as a wide variety of donuts in flavors such as tres leches, margarita, maple bacon, and a host of vegan options.
