Owner Jaime Manning hosts baking classes on Monday through Wednesday. Then, she sells baked goods Thursday through Sunday.
“The classes have been a huge hit. The macaroon class sells out every month,” Manning tells The Eagle-Tribune. “But almost always, people come back and say that it's too hard to do regularly. And macaroons are an expensive item to make, people who only want one or two will just come and buy them. In the long run, it's not really taking away from our business.”
Manning was a head baker at Whole Foods and McKinnon's Market before deciding to open her own store in the fall of 2016. She was never formally trained, but she wants to pass along the knowledge she’s gained over the years to a new crop of baking enthusiasts.
She teaches several different classes, including kids and pre-teen baking series, an adult cake series, a French macaroons workshop, a cupcake decorating workshop, and a fun with fondant workshop. Love + Flour’s class prices range from $45 to $260, depending on the class and length of curriculum. Dates and times can be found at Love + Flour's Facebook page.
