HayleyCakes and Cookies, a bakery that gained national attention after its soothing cookie decorating videos on Instagram went viral, plans to open a new location in Austin, Texas in August.
The new bakery will be four times as large as the original, giving the bakery plenty of room to operate.
“We often book up two to four weeks [in advance] around holidays,” owner Hayley Callaway-Evans tells Eater Austin. “Hopefully we can take on more orders with shorter turnaround time. Plus right, now we have 23 people working in 1200 square feet so we can't even fit any more employees in there.”
The bakery takes the place of a shuttered cooking school, the National Epicurean Academy of Culinary Arts, that opened in 2009 but closed earlier this year.
HayleyCakes and Cookies’ Instagram videos feature smooth frosting and precise handwriting, and that precision is available on the cookie and cake products it offers.
